The largest floral festival in the Southwest returned this year to the Dallas Arboretum. This year’s theme is “Peace, Love and Flower Power,” and will feature a variety of different blooms from tulips and daffodils to pansies and poppies. Dallas Blooms is happening daily from 10am to 9pm through April 9 and will conclude with the mass flowering of the garden’s 3,000 azaleas. Admission to the gardens ranges from $10 to $15.
Celebrate all things Irish culture at one of the nation’s largest Irish Festivals, taking place right here in North Texas. Musicians from around the world will come to Fair Park to perform and celebrate with thousands of celtic revelers. There will be dancing, whiskey tastings, horse displays, blacksmithing demos, storytelling and a range of Irish foods available for purchase including Shepherd’s pie and Irish stew. The event is great for all ages. Tickets are available for purchase at all DFW-area Tom’s Thumb and Albertsons stores, or tickets can be purchased online and range from $10 to $30.
The Dallas Museum of Art recently announced that it will be the United States host for a major exhibition of Mexican art, featuring works done by artists including Frida Kahlo, and Diego Rivera, among others. There will be more than 200 different works to enjoy, both from familiar artists and some that are more obscure. You can catch the exhibit anytime on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm through July 16. Special exhibit pricing is $16.
Stop by the Nasher Sculpture Center for an evening of fun, filled with music, film, and food like street tacos and other grab and go snacks, plus the option of a special reserve-ahead picnic-style dining experience for two prepared by Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck on March 17 from 6pm to midnight. The family-friendly event will also feature a fun social media scavenger hunt, progressive tours and the chance to view the Nasher’s exhibitions for free.
This year’s Texas Pinball Festival will feature over 400 vintage and new pinball machines in addition to classic arcade games — all set on free play! Test your pinball skills at one of the event’s tournaments; you might just take home a prize or trophy. There will also be demos, Q&A’s, and autograph signings. Admission ranges between $10 and $40.
